Product Description
Matt polyester is a soft polyester braid on braid with a high grip staple polyester cover. It is ideal for sheets, control lines and classic rigging.
Please note that prices are per metre. For example, if you order a quantity of 6 then a 6 metre length of rope will be cut and dispatched.
Breaking Strains:
8mm: 1,000kg
10mm: 1,800kg
12mm: 2,500kg
14mm: 3,000kg
Applications:
Control Lines - Control lines are used to make adjustments to different parts of the sail and the rig.
Halyards - A halyard is used to hoist a sail. Ropes used for halyards are normally very low stretch to keep the sail raised and taut.
Sheets - Sheets are a line used to control the movable clews of a sail.
Material:
Polyester - polyester has a specific gravity of 1.38 which means it will not float. Polyester has no strength loss when wet, it is flexible and has good abrasion resistance. Polyester fibres also have good resistance to chemicals and have a melting point of 295C
